Baptist Charities of America (BCA) Helping children and adults with disabilities live
BCA Stateside BCA operates a caring residential community for adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Our goal is to provide quality services that meet the needs of the persons entrusted to our care. BCA programs are thoughtfully designed to help our residents achieve and maintain developmentally-appropriate skills which enable them to function successfully in family, group living, and community settings. We are dedicated to empowering each resident as he or she develops spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially in a safe, loving, and closely supervised environment. In a country where 90% of children born with disabilities are excluded from public education, the center works to overcome prejudices that block children from receiving the care, services and opportunities they deserve. Through the center personal assistance is provided for children with severe disabilities and their families that includes child care assistance, leisure time, and home-schooling if necessary. The children are able to take language and computer classes to build their skills. Parents of the children in the programs are able to gather in support groups to share advice and best practices in the care of their loved ones. Through games, interactive activities, and vocational orientation workshops, the growth and development of children in need is supported. Locally, BCA’s sister organization Children’s Emergency Relief International is able to provide partnership support. Click to learn more about Speranta.
